There were two wordpress plugins out there which offered the feature for visitors to track unread comments since their last visit to wordpress blog. One of them were smart unread comments developed by Brett Taylor & another one was by Ryan J parker. But unfortunately both the plugins are too old and none of the developers seemed to continue their support for their respective plugins. So, eventually they got incompatible with new wordpress release. For my multi user blog i wanted to use one of them and chose smart unread comments plugin. I have made some modifications to the plugin so that it becomes compatible with my wordpress version (2.92) and so far working great.
I thought someone else might also want to use this beautiful plugin for their blog. So here i m sharing the modified version of Smart unread comments plugin. it is compatible with wordpress version 2.92+ and works up to latest wordpress version 3.01 as well.
